Works on the A11

Dear Customer

I am writing to tell you that we plan to carry out renewal of road markings between London Road Roundabout and Thetford Road Roundabout on the A11. Once complete, drivers will benefit from a safer, smoother and better-defined road surface.

We plan to start this work on Monday 7 April and complete on Thursday 8 May 2025. We will work between 8pm and 6am on weeknights only, weather permitting.

Closures and diversions

To carry out the work safely, we will need to close the A11 in phases, and divert traffic as detailed in the table below:

 

Closure Dates Diversion
A11 northbound between Thetford Roundabout and Brandon Road Roundabout 7 to 9 April

Traffic travelling northbound on the A11 will need to:

 

  • Exit the A11 at Thetford Roundabout onto London Road.
  • Turn left onto the A134 (Brandon Road)
  • Rejoin the A11 at Brandon Road Roundabout

A11 northbound between Mundford Road Roundabout and Thetford Road Roundabout 10 to 15 April

Traffic travelling northbound on the A11 will need to:

 

  • Exit the A11 at Mundford Road Roundabout onto the A1066
  • Join the A1075 (Norwich Road)
  • Rejoin the A11 at Thetford Road Roundabout

A11 southbound between Thetford Road Roundabout and Mundford Road Roundabout

16 to 24 April

 

(four nights only due to embargo during school holiday)

Traffic travelling southbound on the A11 will need to:

 

  • Exit the A11 at Thetford Road Roundabout onto the A1075 (Norwich Road)
  • Join the A1066
  • Rejoin the A11 at Mundford Road Roundabout

A11 southbound between Mundford Road Roundabout and Brandon Road Roundabout 25 to 29 April

Traffic travelling southbound on the A11 will need to:

 

  • Exit the A11 at Mundford Road Roundabout onto the A134
  • Continue northbound towards Mundford and then join the A1065
  • Follow the A1065 to Fiveways Roundabout
  • Rejoin the A11 to continue your journey

A11 southbound between Brandon Road Roundabout and Thetford Roundabout 30 April to 2 May

Traffic travelling southbound on the A11 will need to:

 

  • Exit the A11 at Mundford Road Roundabout onto the A134
  • Continue northbound towards Mundford and then join the A1065
  • Follow the A1065 to Fiveways Roundabout
  • Rejoin the A11 to continue your journey

A11 northbound between Brandon Road Roundabout and Mundford Road Roundabout 6 to 8 May

Traffic travelling northbound on the A11 will need to:

 

  • Exit the A11 at Fiveways Roundabout onto the A1065
  • Follow the A1065 to Mundford
  • At Swaffham Road Roundabout join the A134
  • Rejoin the A11 at Mundford Road Roundabout
